The Alzheimer’s Association Long Island Chapter offers free education programs in-person and virtually. These programs provide information on topics including the signs of Alzheimer’s disease, diagnosis, communication, living with Alzheimer’s and caregiving techniques.

We also offer programs to organizations and community groups, by request. To schedule an education program for your group, please call 800.272.3900.

Alzheimer’s and other dementias cause changes in memory, thinking and behavior that interfere with daily life. Join us to learn about 10 common warning signs and what to watch for in yourself and others.

In this presentation, we will explore crucial home safety modifications (grab bars, lighting, etc.) for individuals living with dementia, with a primary focus on fall prevention and creating a secure home environment for both the person with dementia and their caregivers.

The Empowered Caregiver Series 
This education series teaches caregivers how to navigate the responsibilities of caring for someone with dementia. Topics include: Building the Foundations of Caregiving, Supporting the Independence, Communicating Effectively, Responding to Dementia-Related Behaviors and Exploring Care and Support Services.
