The Long Island Chapter welcomes new board members

Ms. Marie Taylor, Financial Advisor for Edward Jones in West Hempstead, has joined our Board. Edward Jones is a national presenting sponsor of Walk to End Alzheimer's. As a national strategic partner, Edward Jones has committed $4.7 million over two years to support the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association. Funding through the partnership will enhance the Association’s care programs and support services, provide educational materials on brain health and fund critical Alzheimer’s disease research and grassroots awareness activities. In addition, the Alzheimer’s Association will provide services, support and education on Alzheimer’s disease and brain health to Edward Jones’ associates and clients. The Alzheimer’s Association will work with Edward Jones to create the Edward Jones Alzheimer’s Research Fund, a targeted effort to advance research toward methods of  treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure at a quicker pace.

Ms. Taylor opened the Edward Jones branch in West Hempstead in 2001 an it has grown to more than 1000 clients to date. She enjoys educating the community on investing through monthly workshops and secure speaking engagements and facilitates seminars on the importance of investing for the future. We are so honored to have her as a member of our team.

Joseph Deal, Principal of Bohler Engineering, whose firm contributed a great deal to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Belmont Lake State Park has joined our Board. Joe manages the New York Metro Regional offices for Bohler, the premier civil and consulting engineering company on the East Coast. Bohler employs over 650 experienced professionals providing civil engineering, land surveying, project management, environmental consulting, landscape architecture, LEED & LID design, permitting services and planning. Bohler’s dedicated hands-on professionals navigate clients through the land development process from site evaluation and due diligence to project completion and grand opening. The firm has completed over 25,000 projects, over 30 years, by 24 different offices, covering over 25 states. Joe comes to the Association with a great deal of charity experience. We are looking forward to working with Joe in our fight to end Alzheimer’s disease.
