Reserve Your Plate

The Alzheimer’s Association is creating a specialty license plate for the State of Maine to raise awareness for this devastating disease. Show your support and reserve your plate today! In order to petition the legislature to approve this specialty license plate, we must submit 2,000 registrants for their car or truck.  Don’t miss your opportunity to bring this license plate to Maine!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much will the plate cost?
$29 per car/truck reserves your license plate.

How will I get my plate?
The law regarding specialty license plates mandates a minimum number of plates at 2000. Once approved, the State of Maine will mail vouchers to the signees to be redeemed at Bureau of Motor Vehicles or other municipality.

Can I keep my current plate number?
No, we are sorry. Specialty plate numbers will include 3 numbers and 3 letters.

I have multiple cars, can I get a plate for each car?
Yes! The fee is $29 per registration.

Can I get a vanity plate or keep my current vanity plate?
Yes. The cost of the specialty plate will be in addition to the current vanity plate fee. If the vanity plate is duplicated in another Maine license plate style option, it will not be available. This is designed to eliminate potential risk of misidentification.

How much money goes toward the Alzheimer’s Association?
After the initial 2000 plates are issued and the plate is made available to the public, $10 from every plate will go to the Maine Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. If the Alzheimer’s Association does NOT reach 2000 pre-registrations within a reasonable time frame (approximately 2 years), your $29 will be converted into an Alzheimer’s Association donation.
