9:00am  Welcome & The Landscape of Alzheimer's Care - Kristen White, LMSW

IMG_4743.jpgKristen White is the program manager for the Alzheimer’s Association. In her role, she is responsible for providing education and resources to those living with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers. Her presentation will discuss an overview of the disease, the signs and symptoms and current research advances in care.

 

10:00am Medicaid Planning Through Advance Directives - Al Cutturini

al-head-pic.jpgAl Cutturini has served as the Elder Law Project Director for North Mississippi Rural Legal Services since January 2017. His presentation will discuss eligibility requirements for Medicaid benefits for Nursing Facilities, types of ownership provided by property deeds and how to maintain assets while applying for Medicaid.



11:15am Navigating Senior Care - Dawn Hardenburg
FRAN-DawnHardenburg-Headshot2.jpgDawn Hardenburg is the Operating Principal of Right at Home and has been serving Northeast MS for more than a decade. Her presentation will discuss the navigation of the healthcare system including what services are available, when they’re needed and how the services are paid for.

Caregivers will share their personal journey through care givin and how they've utilized community resources, managed self care and have been able to find the joys in their experience.

2:30-3:00pm  Skills2Care - Courtney Everett
image-(5).pngCourtney Everett, BSN, OTR/L, CDP, ECHM, is an occupational therapist, a Certified Dementia Practitioner, and is the founder and owner of Safe at Home, LLC. Her presentation will discuss stress and behavior management strategies for caregivers.
