Taking care of a person with dementia is a role like no other, and that role requires training. Savvy Caregiver Program will:

  • educate people caring for a loved one with dementia living at home;
  • help caregivers appreciate the scope and impact of caregiving;
  • increase important dementia caregiving skills; and
  • offer proven strategies and practical knowledge with the goal of improving the quality of life for both the person with dementia and the caregiver.

Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.
Benjamin Franklin

Borrowing a page from Ben Franklin’s playbook, caregivers will learn about and practice skills needed to address the progressive impact of the disease. In a classroom setting, a trained facilitator will provide proven, professional-level training for the non-professional family caregiver. Upon completion of this five-part series, caregivers will more fully understand the role they play in their loved one’s life.
