COVID-19 Safety Notice: This program is currently on hold. Our primary concern is the health and safety of our constituents, volunteers and staff. Because so many participants in early-stage programs are at higher risk or care for those who are at higher risk, it would not be prudent to hold in-person meetings. Our team is closely monitoring the pandemic and evaluating the factors that may influence our decisions to resume programming.

artNOW is an arts engagement program that combines discussion-based gallery tours of the Portland Art Museum and art-making classes in the Portland Art Museum studio for individuals living with dementia and their care partners. Creative activity in the museum studio encourages experimentation with a wide variety of materials.

Designed for people with younger-onset or early to mid-stage dementia; artNOW provides opportunities to enjoy conversation, works of art and new experiences in the Portland Art Museum galleries and studio. Specially trained museum educators and gallery guides facilitate an exchange of ideas without relying on short-term memory or recollection of art historical information.

artNOW was developed in partnership with the Alzheimer's Association Oregon & Southwest Washington Chapter and the Portland Art Museum.

artNOW is free, but space is limited and screening and registration are required. Call 800.272.3900 for more information or to register.
