Another successful Annual Alzheimer's Association, Unforgettable Evening & Auction, a Kentucky Derby party, was recently held at the charming Quidnessett Country Club in North Kingstown.

Over 120 attendees gathered in their fashionable hat and Southern Belle attire, raising more than $43,000 to support programs for Rhode Islanders facing the challenges of Alzheimer's disease. Attendees experienced the excitement and glamour of a true Kentucky Derby party as they picked their favorite horse and watched a live broadcast of the "most exciting two minutes in sports at Churchill Downs." The rest of the night was danced away, listening to Southern New England's finest nine-piece band, Brass Attack. There were 80 silent auction items and 8 live auction items to bid on; from a one-week stay in a private home on Cape Cod to Sports Memorabilia and more, there some something for everyone! Auction proceeds fund free programs such as our 24/7 help line, counseling, education, training, and advocacy. Donations for programs are always appreciated. Stay tuned for more information on next year's Derby Day!

The Auction Committee, the Board of Directors, and the staff at the Alzheimer's Association, Rhode Island Chapter, want to thank everyone who made the night a success.
