THE LONGEST DAY

The Longest Day is all about love. Love for all those affected by Alzheimer’s disease. It is a tribute to our caregiver heroes and those facing Alzheimer’s. June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month, and on or around the summer solstice--the longest day of the year--businesses, towns, teams, and individuals all over the country are coming together to help end Alzheimer’s. We will raise funds and awareness for care and support programs while advancing research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Join The Longest day by starting or joining a team, hosting an event, or doing something on your own! Choose an activity that you love, plan a day that has special meaning for you and your loved ones and collect donations in support of your efforts and those you are fighting for.

Join the Volunteer Planning Committee!

Currently, The Alzheimer's Association RI Chapter is in search of leadership volunteers for this event.  Working in conjunction with a Chapter Staff Partner, The Longest Day leadership serves as  support for the strategy and execution of The Longest Day here in Rhode Island. The leaders work to recruit an effective Volunteer Committee focused on raising revenue, increasing awareness and promoting the concept and activation of The Longest Day.

Are you that particular person?  These leaders will have strong support from the Chapter Partner Development Team, as well as national support from the Alzheimer's Association home office.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who has a couple of hours a month to spend on raising awareness and funds in the pursuit of finding the first survivor of Alzheimer's! If you feel the call or know of someone who would fit this role to a tee, please reach out to Kate Spinella, Development Director at kaspinella@alz.org or Bella Garcia, Special Events Coordinator at  agarcia@alz.org and we will contact you.
