Join us on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 4:30 pm for our Education Series comprised of workshops to help understand Alzheimer's and other dementia.
The series will highlight local resources and supportive services in Laredo.
Tuesday, June 20, 2023 @ 4:30pm - 5:30pm | Dementia Conversations
This workshop offers helpful tips to assist families in having honest and caring conversations with family members about dementia. Common difficult can include going to the doctor, when to stop driving and making legal and financial plans.
Tuesday, July 18, 2023 @ 4:30pm - 5:30pm | Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body
Join us to learn about research in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity and social engagement, and use hands-on tools to help you incorporate these recommendations into a plan for healthy aging.
Tuesday, August 15, 2023 @ 4:30pm - 5:30pm | Understanding Alzheimer's and Dementia
Alzheimer's is not normal aging. It's a disease of the brain that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior. This workshop examines what happens in a brain affected by Alzheimer's.
Tuesday, September 19, 2023 @ 4:30pm - 5:30pm | COVID-19 and Caregiving
This workshop provides simple tips for caregivers to put into place whether the person living with dementia lives at home, in a residential facility or care providers are coming into the home.
