The Southeast Florida Chapter is fortunate to have gracious volunteers whose efforts allow us to continue providing high-quality services and raise funds for research. Our volunteers are passionate, inspired and want to make a difference in the fight against Alzheimer's disease. Whether you can spare a few hours a week or can make a more significant time commitment, please consider becoming an Alzheimer's Association volunteer.

Volunteer opportunities include:

General Office Volunteer
Assist staff in office activities. Duties could include organization of office, miscellaneous computer work, filing, putting together packets, making phone calls for the chapter, and answering phones.

Alzheimer's Association Community Education
Alzheimer’s Association Community Educators (AACE) are public speakers and educators that operate with the goals to raise awareness, provide education, expand the reach of educational offerings and link consumers to Association services. AACEs utilize Alzheimer’s Association Core Curriculum, to increase understanding of Alzheimer’s disease; empower those affected by offering services and tools to cope; and inspire action to join the movement to end Alzheimer’s.

Special Projects Volunteer
Provide administrative, clerical and secretarial support to organize materials ahead of time for upcoming special projects, including meeting, conferences, symposiums, walks, etc. 

Health Fair Representative
Facilitate public awareness of the chapter and our services. Duties include setting up the booth for the chapter, talking to Health Fair attendees, handing out information to interested attendees, etc. Training is provided.

Committee Member
Duties include attending monthly meetings, brainstorming ideas about fundraising, sponsorship, publicity, logistics and helping implement them for the chapter. We encourage participation in the actual day-of-event activities as well.

Walk to End Alzheimer's
Duties include recruiting team members, passing information from chapter to your team, encourage fundraising, and participating
. Training is provided.

The Longest Day
Volunteers are needed to recruit team members, encourage fundraising and participate in events for The Longest Day on June 21, 2018. Volunteers are also needed for The Longest Day planning committee.

Physicians Outreach
Volunteers educate health care professionals about Alzheimer’s disease and Chapter’s programs and service to increase referrals of persons with Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers to the Alzheimer’s Association.  Training is provided.

Helpline Associate
Help answer Helpline calls from individuals with Alzheimer's disease, family members, care professionals, or medical professionals, to make them aware of services we provide and provide them resources in their community to meet their needs.  Must be a Master’s level clinician.

Early Stage Engagement Facilitator
Volunteers provide a safe environment of acceptance and respect for those that are affected with Alzheimer's disease and their care partners.  Facilitators can choose to coordinate social engagement programs and recreational community events (i.e. at local museums, libraries, zoos, bowling, etc.) or to co-facilitate support groups to help members cope with and understand the affects of Alzheimer's and related memory disorders.  This opportunity is perfect for those who enjoy hands-on work with clients and caregivers.
