Dementia Friendly Community Education

The following opportunities are available throughout southeastern Wisconsin and are tied to dementia friendly community efforts. Dementia friendly community efforts are provided in collaboration with public health agencies or city/municipality governments and to be listed here need to be held at a neutral location in the community. A dementia friendly community helps to ensure that persons with dementia and their families can enjoy a normal life in their communities for as long as possible.

The education opportunities listed here may range in topics like risk factors associated with dementia, brain health, warning signs of cognitive problems and what to do if there is concern, information on managing the symptoms of dementia, community resources, and steps the public can take to reduce stigma and participate in research.
