Employees in your workforce may be a caregiver of a family member with dementia while balancing a career, family and  other demands. We know the cost of replacing a valued employee is high – both financially and emotionally – and that’s what we want to help you avoid.   You can help by recognizing the toll caregiving is having on your employees and referring them to us.  There is information and resources available to keep your working caregivers healthy, and retaining them in your workforce. Contact Tim Harrington at 414.479.8800 or tharrington@alz.org for more information on all the Association has to offer.

DHS Dementia Friendly Employers Toolkit

The Alzheimer’s Association of Southeastern Wisconsin is pleased to share a link to the Dementia Friendly Employers Toolkit, which was developed by Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services, in collaboration with AARP and the Alzheimer’s Association. This toolkit is intended to educate employers on the needs of families who are living with Alzheimer’s or a related dementia. Tools provided will assist employers in efforts to connect employee caregivers with resources in the community. The goal of this project is to ensure employees have the assistance they need to remain productive and valued employees, while they provide care and support for their loved ones with dementia.
