Volunteer Opportunities
Education and Program Volunteers
We seek committed, passionate volunteers to educate the public, lead support groups and provide social engagement to those living with early-stage Alzheimer's in all communities.
- Community Educators are volunteer public speakers who help the Alzheimer's Association provide education. These volunteers deliver prepared presentations on topics related to Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
- Community Representatives raise awareness of our programs, provide basic information, and link consumers to services. They liaise between the Association and local business, civic or faith groups.
- Support Group Facilitators create a safe, open environment where people share their feelings, thoughts and experiences to better cope with and manage the shared challenges of dementia. Mentors provide training and guidance for facilitators of early-stage or caregiver groups.
Development and Event Volunteers
The Longest Day
The Longest Day is held annually on the summer solstice. The duration of this sunrise-to-sunset event symbolizes the challenging journey of those living with Alzheimer's disease and their caregivers. Teams are encouraged to create their own experience as they fundraise and participate in an activity they love to honor someone facing the disease. We're looking for volunteers who can help plan this event! Volunteer opportunities include fundraising, recruitment, sponsorships and coaching.
Walk to End Alzheimer's
The
Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for the care and support of People with Alzheimer's Disease as well as to fund Alzheimer's research. This inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to reclaim the future for millions! Whether you will be at a Walk to participate on the day-of or you want to help plan your local Walk experience, there is a volunteer option for you.
