2019 was an incredible year.

At the Alzheimer’s Association, we’ve never been more optimistic about our fight to find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. After all, 2019 was filled with incredible momentum for our cause.

This year, the Alzheimer’s Association invested a record-breaking amount of money into cutting-edge research projects across the globe, totaling more than $167 million dollars that have kickstarted more than 500 new ideas.

At the 2019 Alzheimer’s Association’s International Conference, we learned the research community is close to developing a blood biomarker for Alzheimer’s, which would give us an easy way to diagnose the disease earlier. This was just one of thousands of new developments and discussions that are happening among Alzheimer's scientists.

At the Tennessee Capitol, our advocates fought tirelessly to be heard by lawmakers, which resulted in the formation of the state’s first-ever Alzheimer’s Advisory Council — a group that's already working to help shape our state’s response to the Alzheimer’s epidemic.

And in 2019, we also provided more support for Tennesseans navigating this disease than ever before.
In our state alone, we fielded more than 2,200 Helpline calls — most on weekends and evenings when caregivers have limited places to turn for help. We also hosted 100 support groups across the state, allowing Tennesseans facing Alzheimer’s to find comfort, encouragement and community.

Additionally, we educated more than 2,000 Tennessee residents through our in-person workshops — creating awareness around the disease, dementia-related behavior and more.

We've had an incredible year and we know all of this work is only made possible thanks to donors like you. But we also know our work is far from over.

That’s why this #GivingTuesday, we’re asking you to give to the Alzheimer’s Association. Your support will allow us to continue providing care and support right here in Tennessee and help us fund even more scientific breakthroughs around the globe.

Giving is easy.

You can always make a tax-deductible donation here. Or if you prefer to give to an Alzheimer’s Association office in your own community, below are links to help each Walk to End Alzheimer's reach their 2019 fundraising goal.
