    Memories in the Making

The Alzheimer’s Association Memories in the Making® program offers creative art expression for individuals with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and early- to middle-stage Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia. The program is delivered through long-term care communities, adult day facilities and Memory Cafes in Wisconsin. No prior art experience needed!

CreativityThe artistic process stimulates the brain and increases the levels of concentration, sustained attention, and self-esteem. We celebrate what the artist can still do.

Reminiscing: Participants can preserve distant memories or capture the spirit of the moment in a safe, encouraging environment without judgement.

Social Engagement: Sharing the stories behind their art fosters communication with family, friends, and caregivers. This increases a sense of belonging and overall well-being.
