The Run Jimmy Run, a 5K road race and 1-mile walk through downtown Buffalo, was established in 2013 in memory of former Mayor of Buffalo (1978-1994) Jim Griffin. This unique race course highlights some of the sites originated by Mayor Griffin and ends in the downtown baseball park with a family oriented post-race lunch, party and ball game.
The race celebrates the life, accomplishments and charitable spirit of Mayor Griffin by benefitting the non-profit Alzheimer's Association Western New York Chapter. All proceeds are earmarked for the WNY Chapter to ensure programs and services continue to assist all impacted by Alzheimer's disease and other dementia.
