Thanks to the dedication of friends like you, 2012 is shaping up to be an exciting year of progress in the fight against Alzheimer's disease. From legislative victories to new online resources, the Alzheimer’s Association® has seen much success during the past few months, including:

      Passage of the National Alzheimer’s Project Act
On May 15, we celebrated the release of our nation's first plan to address the Alzheimer's epidemic, which strives to change the trajectory of the disease.
      The Longest Day™ held in June

On June 20, the longest day of the year, participants pushed their limits in a sunrise-to-sunset relay to raise funds and awareness in honor of those facing Alzheimer’s.

      Alzheimer’s Association awards largest-ever research grant
The Dominantly Inherited Alzheimer’s Network–Therapeutic Trials Unit (DIAN-TTU) will receive nearly $4.2 million from the Alzheimer’s Association during a four-year period.
      ALZConnected® social networking site launches

People with Alzheimer’s, their caregivers and others affected by the disease can share questions and form new connections in this online community.

      Release of Alzheimer’s Facts and Figures

The 2012 annual report revealed the burden of Alzheimer's and dementia on individuals, caregivers, the government and our health care system.
