The New York Rita Hayworth Gala honors individuals, families and companies who show their support of and dedication to the fight against Alzheimer’s disease through their fundraising, care and volunteer efforts.

Bill Brand

Bill BrandBill Brand is the President of HSN and the Chief Marketing Officer of HSN, Inc a $4 billion direct to consumer portfolio that includes live content retailer HSN and the Cornerstone portfolio of home and family lifestyle brands. Bill has been a transformational leader in the media, retail and entertainment industries for 25 years. Prior to HSNi, he served as Senior Vice President of Reality Programming at Lifetime in Los Angeles, and Vice President, Programming and Production, VH1 in New York.

Bill joined HSN in 2006 and has been instrumental in transforming the company into a lifestyle network. Bill specializes in building strategic partnerships that create meaningful content that drive the business.

Bill developed HSNi Cares, the philanthropic arm of the company, and he has continued to show his dedication to the fight against Alzheimer’s by supporting the Alzheimer’s Association year after year.

The Champion Award

Brendan ShanahanBrendan Shanahan

Brendan Shanahan is the President and Alternate Governor of the Toronto Maple Leafs. In this role, Brendan oversees all team operations after a 27-year NHL career as both a player and league executive. Brendan played 21 seasons in the NHL from 1987 to 2009 and tallied 656 goals, 698 assists and 1,354 points in the regular season. In 2013 he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in his hometown of Toronto.

We salute Brendan’s commitment to fighting Alzheimer’s and his efforts to spread awareness.
