Honorees

The New York Rita Hayworth Gala honors individuals, families and companies who show their support of and dedication to the fight against Alzheimer’s disease through their fundraising, care and volunteer efforts.

Champion Award

Mark Locks
Mark Locks has been a leading force in the apparel industry for over two decades. As President of Global Operations with Tiger J, LLC, his manufacturing company strives to provide beautifully chic, fashion forward clothing and accessories of the highest quality to consumers both domestically and internationally.

Mark currently divides his time between New York, Los Angeles and Palm Beach. When he is not overseeing his fashion empire you may find him boating on the open seas or devoting his energy to the several nonprofit organizations he supports.

Mark has worked tirelessly since 2005 as a Corporate Chair for the Rita Hayworth Gala in honor of his mother and his aunt. A true philanthropist, Mark Locks lives by the philosophy, “It is not what you achieve in life, but what you give back.”

Family Philanthropy Award

The Kornfeld Family
This year the 2014 Rita Hayworth Gala Family Philanthropy Award will be presented to the Kornfeld Family. We are pleased to honor Louise and Stephen and their children Adam and Tracey Kornfeld, Karyn Kornfeld and Steven Kobre, and Joanna Kornfeld and Dr. Paul Friedman. It is the second time a family has been recognized by the Gala for their dedication, compassion and financial support in our quest to find a cure for Alzheimer's disease.

Louise, who chaired the 2007 Rita Hayworth Gala and Karyn, who was the first Junior Committee Chair are active members of the Gala steering committee committing their time and talents ensuring each years event is a success.

Since the Passing of Louise's mother in 2002 from this devastating disease the Kornfeld family has made the fight to end Alzheimer's disease their primary cause.

We celebrate and salute them at this year's Gala.
