The Judy Fund wishes you a Happy Thanksgiving!
Our friend (who feels like family) David Berry continued what has become a fall tradition to lead a team for The Judy Fund at the Chicago Walk to End Alzheimer's on Sunday, October 28.
Dear Family and Friends,

There's no better way to remind ourselves why we need a world without Alzheimer's than by looking around the Thanksgiving table at the faces of the people we love. I'm so grateful that you've joined with the Gelfand family to end this disease through your support of The Judy Fund. As the end of the year fast approaches, The Fall 2018 Judy Fund newsletter is a good way to learn more about major events in our family fund — and in our family — during 2018.
The Judy Fund National Team hits its stride for Walk to End Alzheimer's®!
The Judy Fund Walk team shatters fundraising goal
Bad weather at the Manhattan Walk to End Alzheimer's® couldn't dampen the spirits of the crowd gathered there — or anywhere. Thanks to our teams nationwide, The Judy Fund has now raised more than $73,000 (and counting). Working together, 642 participants exceeded our original goal by $20,000! All of our teams raised more than last year, including our beloved Sammys (see below). We even saw new teams this year that walked to support a "Judy" in their own lives. And we're not done yet. Teams that did not reach their goal yet still have until December 31 to raise funds, and you still have the opportunity to participate by donating support. Any of our teams would appreciate a year-end gift from you today.
Congrats to the top Sammy team, Sigma Theta, University of Texas at Austin (Austin Walk). Thank you to all Sammy teams for helping us raise over $24,000 in Walk donations this year!
The Judy Fund is grateful for Sigma Alpha Mu
As the national charity of choice for Sigma Alpha Mu, The Judy Fund is honored by the commitment and success of Sammy students and alums who have adopted our cause. ΣAM fraternity fundraising has totaled more than $500,000 in cumulative giving over the history of their partnership with us, and there is perhaps no time of the year when Sammys shine more than in the fall. This year, Sammy Walk to End Alzheimer's teams raised even more than last year, with over $24,000 raised in support of our national goal. Top teams so far this year include Texas Sammy in Austin with $6,213 in donations and Sigma Alpha Mu — UVA (Beta Psi) with $4,635 raised thus far. No Shave November, when the men of Sigma Alpha Mu put away their razors to raise awareness and funds to end Alzheimer's has raised over $130,000 in the past five years alone, and we look forward to seeing how much that event "grows" this year as well!
We are so grateful to them and to everyone reading this newsletter without whom none of our success would be possible. Happy Thanksgiving!

Sincerely,
Elizabeth Gelfand Stearns Elizabeth Gelfand Stearns
