Great news: Registration is now open for the 2023 Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®, and we hope you will join us! The final 2022 Walk to End Alzheimer's numbers from last year are in, and NARFE members helped to raise more than $78,000* to help provide much-needed Alzheimer's care and support services and advance groundbreaking research. Thanks to the dedication of NARFE members, we're getting closer to our shared vision of a world without Alzheimer's and all other dementia. Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to the cause!
*Correction to January 2023 e-newsletter: Walk to End Alzheimer's fundraising has contributed to NARFE's overall total of more than $15 million in fundraising contributions.

Confusion is common in people in the later stages of Alzheimer's
A person living in the later stages of Alzheimer's may not remember familiar people, places or things. Situations involving memory loss and confusion can be difficult for caregivers and families, and require patience and understanding. Learn more.

A daily plan can help caregivers and people living with Alzheimer's
Daily routines can be helpful for both caregivers and people living with Alzheimer's. A planned day allows you to spend less time trying to figure out what to do and more time on activities that provide meaning and enjoyment. Learn more.

Focus on emotions when responding to repetitive behavior
A person living with Alzheimer's may repeat a word, question or activity or undo something that has just been finished. They may be looking for comfort, security and familiarity; when responding, think about how the person is feeling rather than react to the behavior. Learn more.

Alzheimer's affects people living with the disease in different ways
Alzheimer's typically progresses slowly in three general stages: mild (early stage), moderate (middle stage) and severe (late stage). Each person living with Alzheimer's will experience symptoms and progress through the stages of the disease in different ways. Learn more.
