Volunteer of the Quarter
Congratulations to Norma Carpenter! Norma came to the Association seven years ago after her husband was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia and she became his caregiver. After his passing, Norma has used her experience to help others, becoming a Support Group Facilitator and reaching out personally to caregivers every week. Meredith Finley, with our Caregiver Consultation Program, says: “Norma’s desire to give back is inspiring. Her willingness to support those in need speaks volumes about her character. I look forward to seeing her smile every week."
Even though volunteering can bring back sad memories, Norma remains dedicated to helping others. “I know what they are going through and I want to help them just like the Association helped me," she says. We're grateful for her strength, positivity and warm smile!
