The newly released 2010 Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures details the escalation of Alzheimer’s, the 7th leading cause of death in the nation... fifth leading cause for those age 65 and older. It clearly conveys the burden of this disease on individuals, families, local and state government, and the nation’s health care system.

This year’s report also examines the growing prevalence and escalating impact of this disease. It should not be underestimated. Now is the time to address the ways to tame the threat of one of the most significant public health crisis facing the nation.
