The National Alzheimer's Dinner is an evening to raise awareness of Alzheimer's disease and benefit the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. Bringing together our country's most influential and respected political, business, philanthropic, entertainment, media, social and advocacy leaders, we will celebrate advances in the fight against Alzheimer's and rally around the growing movement to end the disease. The evening will be hosted by Meredith Vieira, Special Correspondent for NBC News, and the Alzheimer's Association will present University of Tennessee Women's Basketball Coach Pat Summitt and her son, Tyler Summitt, with its Sargent and Eunice Shriver Profiles in Dignity Award. Additional award recipients will include Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) and Representative Mike Burgess, M.D., (R-TX), who will receive the Alzheimer's Association Humanitarian Award, Colonel Karl E. Friedl, Ph.D. will be presented with the Alzheimer's Association Ronald and Nancy Reagan Research Award, and Garrett Davis of North Carolina will receive the Alzheimer's Association Advocate Award. Each award recipient is being acknowledged for the critical work they are doing in the fight against Alzheimer's.
