Jason D. Flatt, Ph.D., MPH, is an assistant professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, School of Public Health, Department of Social and Behavioral Health. Dr. Flatt’s current research works to better understand the concerns and needs of diverse LGBTQIA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual as well as additional identities) people living with Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease and their care providers. Dr. Flatt also works with several communities on Building H.O.U.S.E, research on affordable and welcoming housing and health for the LGBTQIA+ community. His research is funded by the National Institutes of Health, National Institute on Aging; American Federation for Aging Research; Alzheimer’s Association and The Michael J. Fox Foundation. Dr. Flatt’s work has been featured on National Public Radio as well as in U.S. News & World Report, The Advocate, Newsweek, and at the Alzheimer's Association.
