CHICAGO, Aug. 27, 2026 — The Alzheimer's Association will join Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® and a coalition of community organizations for Champion Impact Moment, a large-scale service initiative designed to connect more than 3,500 individuals and families with critical health, wellness and support resources.The event, scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 29, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Georgia International Convention Center, will bring together more than 1,000 Alpha Kappa Alpha members and partner organizations to support communities across metro Atlanta and surrounding areas through education, outreach and direct engagement. As a participating partner, the Alzheimer's Association will provide information and resources for individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, their caregivers, and families seeking support. Attendees will also have access to information about brain health and actions that may help reduce the risk of cognitive decline.
Champion Impact Moment will include the ceremonial signing of memoranda of understanding between Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and participating partner organizations, including the Alzheimer's Association, formalizing a shared commitment to advancing the Sorority's 2026-2030 International Program. The event will also feature the unveiling of the program's strategic targets and community impact goals.

At Champion Impact Moment, attendees will have the opportunity to connect directly with participating organizations, learn about programs and services available in their communities, and access information, support and referrals in a single location. The event aims to strengthen community connections while expanding access to resources that help individuals and families address a range of health and social needs.
