Erin LeBlanc, an accomplished senior care executive with more than three decades of experience in the field of dementia, has been elected to the board of the Alzheimer's Association of Wyoming.
The Cheyenne-based director of Programs and Operations for Laramie County Senior Services, Erin LeBlanc has been elected to serve on the board of directors for the Alzheimer's Association of Wyoming.
A former senior staff member with the Northeast Colorado Area Agency on Aging, LeBlanc works through the Cheyenne Housing Authority in the Laramie County Senior Center where she helps provide resources in the community for older adults, and assists out-of-state family members who are looking to ensure that loved ones in Laramie County have the resources they need.
“I have worked hand-in-hand with those who have experienced Alzheimer's in their family,” said LeBlanc. “I am very passionate about making sure their journey is successful, and that this moment is a good moment.”
There are 10,300 Wyomingites among more than seven million Americans living with Alzheimer’s disease, the seventh-leading cause of death and the only leading disease without a prevention or cure.
“Having someone with Erin LeBlanc’s 30 years of professional experience in the field of dementia care on our board is a huge asset,” said Susie von Ahrens, board chair of the Alzheimer’s Association of Wyoming. “Not only does she understand the challenges posed by dementia for the person diagnosed, but she knows what family members need, particularly when they are living a distance away and want to ensure their loved one received the care that is needed.”
