    3 business/community leaders elected to Colorado Alzheimer's Association board

    Three executives with extensive corporate and public service experience have been elected to two-year terms on the board of the Alzheimer's Association of Colorado. Phill Barklow of Experience Senior Living, Jennifer Roitz of Empower and former Colorado Representative and current consultant and legislative advocate Donald Valdez have joined the chapter’s 18-member board.

    Three business and community leaders from across the state have been elected to the Alzheimer's Association of Colorado board of directors.

    Joining the board on two-year terms are:

    • Phill Barklow, president of Experience Senior Living, Berthoud 
    • Jennifer Roitz, vice president of change management at Empower, Highlands Ranch
    • Donald Valdez, rancher/farmer/consultant/legislative advocate/construction manager and former District 62 Colorado House representative, La Jara

    “These new board members bring invaluable professional experience, public service background and geographic diversity to the board of the Alzheimer's Association of Colorado,” said Cindy George, chair of the Colorado chapter board. “Each new board director increases our capability as we work to spread the message that the Association is an essential resource for the 91,000 Coloradans living with Alzheimer’s and the loved ones who care for them.”

    Barklow, Roitz and Valdez were elected to two-year terms on the 18-member board running through winter of 2027. The board’s officers are:

    • Cindy George of Centennial, chair – president of American Medical Sales and Rentals
    • Wendy Davis of Evergreen, engagement chair – managing director at KPMG
    • Debra Wells of Centennial, operations chair – retired operations director at Alzheimer’s Association of Colorado

    Other members of the Colorado board include:

    • Jim Callahan of Denver, senior advisor at JFG Wealth Management
    • Kijah Hanson of Breckenridge, broker associate at Colorado Premier
    • Shay Kerman of Denver, owner of Urgent Care Solutions
    • Morgan Komenda of Denver, experiences lead at Garner Health 
    • Michael Lammers of Denver, franchise owner at Home Instead
    • Christy Palazzo of Highlands Ranch, president, AMPP4, Managed Health 
    • Mattye Pollard-Cole of Centennial, retired mathematics educator and state math education advisor
    • Rachel Spilo, founder and CEO of Catalyst Solutions, Denver 
    • Steve Starzec, managing director, Fifth Third Wealth Advisors, Larkspur
    • Mark Thompson of Highlands Ranch, chief growth officer at Delta Dental of Colorado
    • Libby Weaver of Denver, residential real estate broker with Compass and former evening news anchor for Denver FOX-31 television 
    • Johnathon Woodcock of Denver, clinical associate professor, Neurology and Psychiatry at the University of Colorado’s Anschutz Medical Campus and medical legal consultant in neurology, neurological rehabilitation, and neuropsychiatry
