ALZHEIMER’S ASSOCIATION INVITES REHOBOTH BEACH AND AREA RESIDENTS TO JOIN 2025 WALK TO END ALZHEIMER’S ON OCTOBER 4
Walk to End Alzheimer’s Is World’s Largest Event Dedicated
to Alzheimer’s Care, Support and Research
September 2, 2025 – The Alzheimer’s Association invites Rehoboth Beach and other local area residents to join the fight to end Alzheimer’s by participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Southern Delaware on Saturday, October 4 at Grove Park in Rehoboth Beach.
“This is a pivotal moment in the fight against Alzheimer’s. There are now treatments that can change the course of the disease,” said Meg DiPanni, Vice President of Development, Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter. “We hope that everyone in our community can join us by starting a team to help the Alzheimer's Association raise awareness and funds for families facing the disease today, take more steps toward treatments, and finally end this disease.”
On Walk day, participants honor those affected by Alzheimer’s with the poignant Promise Garden
ceremony—a mission-focused experience that signifies our solidarity in the fight against the disease.
During the ceremony, walkers will carry flowers of various colors, each color representing their personal connection to the disease. One designated person per color will take the stage and their personal story will be featured:
● Yellow: A person who is currently supporting or caring for someone living with Alzheimer’s.
● Purple: An individual who has lost someone to the disease.
● Orange: A participant who supports the cause and the Association’s vision of a world without
Alzheimer’s and other dementia.
● Blue: Someone living with Alzheimer’s or another dementia.
● White: A child(ren) whose presence represents the promise of a future world without
Alzheimer’s.
When: Saturday, October 4, 2025
Time: Registration opens at 8 a.m. | Promise Garden Ceremony at 9 a.m. followed by the Walk
Where: Grove Park | Columbia Avenue & Grove Street | Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971
