    Planning Ahead: Care, Money, and Health Decisions

    An August lunchtime series to help individuals, families, and caregivers prepare for future care needs, medical and financial decisions, and health care conversations.

    All programs are presented live on Zoom, with opportunities to ask questions.

    Managing Money

    Planning ahead can make financial decisions less stressful for individuals and families. This session will help caregivers understand the costs of caregiving, the benefits of early planning, how to start conversations about finances, how to identify financial and legal needs, and ways to protect against financial abuse and fraud.

    Now is the time to make sure your health care wishes are known. This session will help participants understand the importance of choosing a health care agent, completing a health care proxy, and creating a personal care plan that reflects their goals, values, and care preferences. Participants will learn how to start planning conversations with family members, care partners, and health care providers.

    Exploring Care and Support Services

    Time: Tuesday, August 26 | 12:00 PM
    Speaker: Anne Romney, M.Ed.

    As care needs change, knowing what support is available can help families plan with more confidence. This session will explore different types of care and support services, including respite care, home and day care, long-term and residential care, end-of-life care, and considerations when moving from one care setting to another.
