Helena senior care executive joins Alzheimer’s Association board

Joseph May, executive director of Touchmark on Saddle Drive in Helena, has been elected to the board of the Alzheimer's Association of Montana. A long-time executive in the senior care community, May and Touchmark have worked closely with the Alzheimer's Association Montana chapter for a number of years.

The executive director of the Helena retirement community Touchmark on Saddle Drive, Joseph May has been elected to the board of the Alzheimer’s Association of Montana.

“I witness firsthand the challenges that our residents with Alzheimer’s and their families face,” said May. “Our work aligns with the Alzheimer’s Association in our shared goal of supporting individuals living with dementia through compassionate care, education and advocacy.”Joseph May

May noted that Touchmark on Saddle Drive has a long history of collaborating with the Alzheimer’s Association.

“Our community has a partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association and supports their mission through fundraising efforts and educational initiatives,” he said. “We actively participate in awareness campaigns and community events, and we integrate best practices in dementia care into our memory care program.”

That collaboration has been beneficial to the Touchmark families that may face a dementia diagnosis.

“I’ve seen the profound impact the Alzheimer’s Association has on families in our community,” said May. “Their educational programs, support groups, and Helpline provide critical guidance during difficult times. At Touchmark, we host a dementia support group on a monthly basis and often recommend the resources provided by the Alzheimer’s Association.”

“We are excited to have Joseph May join our board,” said Melanie Williams, executive director of the Alzheimer’s Association of Montana. “Joe has great experience and credibility in the senior care community, and recently joined a dementia coalition group that we just started in Helena.”
