The Alzheimer’s Association Nevada Chapter provides support services, care options, and education for individuals, families, and caregivers across the state—from the population center of Las Vegas and the broader Southern Nevada region to Washoe County and the Lake Tahoe area in Northern Nevada. The Chapter also serves rural and frontier communities, as well as tribal nations throughout Nevada, ensuring that people affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias have access to reliable information, care, and support no matter where they live.

Alzheimer’s disease continues to have a significant impact on Nevada families and communities. An estimated 54,900 Nevadans age 65 and older are living with Alzheimer’s disease, representing approximately 1 in 10 adults over age 65 in the state. The burden of care also falls heavily on family members and friends, with approximately 137,000 caregivers providing 226 million hours of unpaid care each year. The value of this unpaid caregiving is estimated at $5.7 billion annually, highlighting both the enormous economic contribution of caregivers and the critical role they play in supporting individuals living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias throughout Nevada.
