    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

APPLAUSE HOME CARE JOINS THE ALZHEIMER’S ASSOCIATION WALK TO END ALZHEIMER’S, SPONSORING ALL FIVE GREATER NEW JERSEY WALKS

Walk to End Alzheimer’s is World’s Largest Event Dedicated to Alzheimer’s Care, Support and Research

FLORHAM PARK, NJ, September 29, 2025 — Jim Prussak, owner of Applause Home Care and Chair of the Bergen-Passaic Walk to End Alzheimer’s, has long been committed to the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association. And in 2025, Applause Home Care committed to sponsoring all five regional Walks within the Greater New Jersey Chapter territory, and Jim doubled-down on his support by personally matching donations at the Bergen-Passaic Walk.

The Greater New Jersey Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association hosts Walks throughout September and October in Mercer-Middlesex, Bergen-Passaic, Monmouth-Ocean, Essex-Hudson-Union, and Northwest, NJ. On Walk day, participants honor those affected by Alzheimer’s with the poignant Promise Garden ceremony—a mission-focused experience that signifies our solidarity in the fight against the disease. During the ceremony, walkers will carry flowers of various colors, each color representing their personal connection to the disease.

“Jim is truly leading the charge for our New Jersey Walks—as one of our top individual fundraisers in the state, his passion and commitment set the tone for what’s possible when one person decides to make a difference. The leadership qualities he demonstrates at Applause Home Care—compassion, vision, and determination—are the same qualities that have elevated our Walk To End Alzheimer's Bergen-Passaic Walk to become New Jersey’s leading grassroots event supporting our dementia community—this truly underscores the Alzheimer’s Association Greater New Jersey’s impact statewide,” said Paul Irwin-Dudek, Executive Director, Alzheimer’s Association Greater New Jersey Chapter.

More than 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease in the United States. Additionally, nearly 12 million family members and friends provide care to people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. In New Jersey,  there are more than 190,000 people living with the disease and 272,000 caregivers.

Irwin-Dudek added, “We are grateful that Jim has committed to serve a second year as Executive Leadership Chair for our 2026 Walk, with a focus on mentoring and guiding the next leader who will carry the torch in 2027. His example reminds us all that leadership is not only about results, it’s about building a legacy of impact and commitment.”
