Businesses across Edmond are coming together the week of May 18 to Turn Edmond Purple and raise awareness of programs and services available to help the 70,000 Oklahomans living with Alzheimer’s disease. In the process, they hope to raise $10,000 to support the resources of the Alzheimer’s Association, which are provided to families at no charge.

The Turn Edmond Purple campaign will run throughout the city center from Monday through Saturday, May 18 to 23. Conducted by the Alzheimer’s Association of Oklahoma, the campaign has a fundraising goal of $10,000.
The full week of activity includes the following events:
- Monday, May 18 – Give Back Night sponsored by Frenzy Brewing Company
- Bingo fundraiser sponsored by Silver Leaf Gems at Frenzy from 6 to 8 p.m., and a portion of Frenzy’s sales going to the Alzheimer’s Association

- Tuesday, May 19 through Thursday, May 28 – Online auction sponsored by Milestone Estate Services, LLC (details to be announced soon)
- Wednesday, May 20 – A Night at the Patriarch, information table from 4 to 7 p.m.
- Thursday, May 21 – Give Back Night Jewelry Class sponsored by Silver Leaf Jewelry, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., location TBD

- Friday, May 22 – Shred Day, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., bring two boxes maximum of anything to be shredded to West Campbell Street across from Silver Leaf Gems – sponsored by Shred-Away
- Saturday, May 23 – Edmond Farmers Market, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- KTOK broadcasting live with Eunice Khoury, sponsored by Well Preserved Advisory Group
- Monday through Saturday – Alzheimer’s Association information table will be moving around town to provide information on Alzheimer’s prevention and diagnosis; as well as information for caregivers and loved ones. Volunteers needed: go to bit.ly/4bDG419
