    Disaster Preparedness

Events like hurricanes can cause confusion, stress and anxiety for those living with Alzheimer's and other dementia. As a caregiver, it is important to have a disaster preparedness plan before the storm hits. The Alzheimer's Association is here to help.

The University of South Florida and Alzheimer's Association Florida Chapters have partnered to create a resource guide Disaster Preparedness For Dementia Caregivers.

    Additional Resources

Two keys to weather safety are to prepare for the risks and to act on those preparations when alerted by emergency officials. These are essential pieces to the Weather-Ready Nation.

Refer to the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Ready.gov/hurricanes for comprehensive information on hurricane preparedness at home and in your community.
