    Men's Caregiver Recognition Event

    In recognition of Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month and National Men’s Health Month, we are pleased to collaborate with Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated – Phi Omega Chapter to will honor and celebrate 10 male caregivers who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment, compassion, and dedication while caring for loved ones impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

    The event program will include:

    • Master of Ceremonies: Sherman Webb-Middlebrooks, Men’s Health Initiative Project Manager, Buffalo Center for Health Equity
    • Recognition awards honoring participants from the Buffalo Center for Health Equity Men’s Mental Health Support Group
    • Opening prayer by Rev. Paul J. Thomas of Bethel AME Church
    • Keynote remarks from Dr. Christopher St. Vil, Associate Professor at the University at Buffalo School of Social Work
    • A featured presentation titled “Building Stronger Communities” by Alzheimer’s Association Health Equity Ambassador and Volunteer Ian C. Barrett, EdD, MBA, EVP & Chief People Officer at Kaleida Health
    • Additional caregiver recognition by Terry Seay, Program Manager for the Buffalo Fatherhood Initiative at Buffalo Prenatal-Perinatal Network, honoring fathers and caregivers involved in the Nurturing Fathers Program
