    The Alzheimer's Association - Eastern North Carolina Chapter would love to bring one of our valuable Alzheimer's and dementia awareness and education programs to your audience!     Brain Health in Our Community (15-30 minutes)
    This engaging awareness session explores the science behind brain health and offers practical, everyday strategies that we should all build into our routines to benefit our brains.

    Building Brain-Healthy Habits (60 minutes)
    It’s never too early—or too late—to start prioritizing brain health. Provides research-backed guidance on brain health and the importance of taking action to protect your brain at every age.

    10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer's (30 or 60 minutes)
    Learn about the warning signs of Alzheimer’s and the differences between normal aging and dementia and strategies for addressing concerns.

    Understanding Alzheimer's and Dementia (30 or 60 minutes)
    Learn the difference between Alzheimer's and dementia, causes, risk factors, stages, and treatments.

    New Advances in Alzheimer’s Treatments
    Provides an overview of how disease modifying treatments slow disease progression, the potential benefits and side effects for intended candidates and pathways for access.

    Managing Money: A Caregiver's Guide to Finances
    Learn about the costs of caregiving and the benefits of early planning and how to avoid financial abuse and fraud; start a conversation about finances, assess legal and financial needs; and find support.

    The Empowered Caregiver Series (Request individual courses or the entire series):
    • Building Foundations of Caregiving: Explores the role of caregivers and changes they may experience, building a support team and managing caregiver stress.
    • Supporting Independence: Focuses on helping the person living with dementia take part in daily activities, providing the right amount of support and balancing safety and independence while managing expectations.
    • Communicating Effectively: Teaches how dementia affects communication, including tips for communicating well with family, friends and health care professionals.
    • Responding to Dementia-Related Behaviors: Details common behavior changes & how they’re a form of communication, non-medical approaches to behaviors and recognizing when help is needed.
    • Exploring Care and Support Services: Examines how best to prepare for future care decisions and changes, including respite care, residential care and end-of life care.
