2018 Pilot Awards for Global Brain Health Leaders (GBHI)

A two-tiered cost-efficient computerized cognitive screening protocol.

Stelios Zygouris, MS
Greek Association of Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders
Thessaloniki, Greece

Zygouris will use computerized brain games to detect cognitive problems in 50 Greek cognitively unimpaired older adults and 50 older adults diagnosed with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). The computerized game developed by the researchers may be self-administered at home and there would be a brief tablet-based assessment administered in a clinic. Zygouris will assess the accuracy of how well each of the new methods detects cognitive impairments. If successful, this computerized game may be a tool for individuals to use at home to evaluate their memory.
