    Empowered Caregiver Series

    These courses aim to help caregivers feel more prepared to handle the challenges that come with caring for someone living with dementia. Caregivers may register for individual courses or complete the entire series to meet their needs.

    - April 1, 2026: Communicating Effectively - Dementia affects communic
    ation, including tips for communicating well with family, friends and health care professionals.

    - May 6, 2026: Responding to Dementia-Related Behaviors - Learn about common behavior changes and how they are a form of communication, non-medical approaches to behaviors and recognizing when additional help is needed.

    - June 3, 2026: Exploring Care and Support Services - Examines how to best prepare for future care decisions and changes.

    - July 1, 2026: Understanding Alzheimer's & Dementia - Basic information on the difference between Alzheimer's and dementia, stages, risk factors and treatments.

    - August 5, 2026: Managing Money: A Caregiver's Guide to Finances - Tips to help caregivers understand the costs of caregiving and the benefits of early planning.

    - September 2, 2026: Building Foundations of Caregiving - Explore the role of the caregiver and changes they may experience, building a support team and managing caregivers stress.

    - October 7, 2026: Supporting Independence - Focuses on helping the person with dementia take part in daily activities, providing the right amount of support and balancing safely and independence while managing expectations.
