The award was presented at the Milwaukee County Office of Equity’s awards celebration held on Sunday, September 21 at Nō Studios in Milwaukee. Diane was recognized for her leadership in advancing health and racial equity across Milwaukee County. By tackling the root causes of health disparities and working side by side with community partners, Diane has helped more residents access quality information, services, and support.
“I am humbled to receive the Milwaukee County Health Equity Champion’s Standard Bearer Award. This recognition reflects the collective work of our community to advance health and racial equity. Together, we are addressing the root causes of disparities and building pathways to wellness. I share this honor with every partner and neighbor striving for fairness and inclusion. Our journey toward a healthier Milwaukee County continues, stronger, and more united than ever,” said Diane Milner, Director of Health Equity, Alzheimer’s Association Wisconsin Chapter.“Diane brings people together and turns ideas into action,” said Dave Grams, Executive Director, Alzheimer’s Association Wisconsin Chapter. “Her leadership expands culturally responsive education, reduces barriers to care, and helps families find support sooner. We celebrate her dedication, and we are grateful for her leadership.”
In her role, Diane builds trusted partnerships to deliver culturally responsive outreach and education, increases access to early detection, diagnosis, and care planning, and connects families with local programs, support groups, and resources. She also encourages participation in research so discoveries reflect and benefit all communities, helping ensure that progress in brain health reaches everyone.
