Donate NowThe Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s –Ozaukee County will be held on Saturday, September 26 at Veteran’s Memorial Park Bandshell in Port Washington. On Walk Day, participants honor those affected by Alzheimer’s with the poignant Promise Garden ceremony — a mission-focused experience that signifies our solidarity in the fight against the disease. During the ceremony, walkers will carry flowers of various colors, each color representing their personal connection to the disease.
“Alzheimer’s affects not only those living with the disease, but also the families, friends, and caregivers who walk alongside them every day,” says Colleen Cassity, Global Head of Oracle Social Impact and Executive Director of Oracle Education Foundation and Oracle Health Foundation.“We’re honored to support the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Ozaukee County and to stand with this community in raising awareness, advancing hope, and helping move us closer to a future without Alzheimer’s.”
More than 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease in the United States. Additionally, nearly 13 million family members and friends provide care to people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. In Wisconsin there are more than 110,900 people living with the disease and 206,000 unpaid caregivers.
