    The Alzheimer’s Association Long Island Chapter offers free education programs in-person and virtually. These programs provide information on topics including the signs of Alzheimer’s disease, diagnosis, communication, living with Alzheimer’s and caregiving techniques.

    We also offer programs to organizations and community groups, by request. To schedule an education program for your group, please call 800.272.3900.

    10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer's
    Alzheimer’s and other dementias cause changes in memory, thinking and behavior that interfere with daily life. Join us to learn about 10 common warning signs and what to watch for in yourself and others.

    Alzheimer's Community Forum
    This provides you to share your experience with Alzheimer's disease and discuss how the Alzheimer's Association can best serve your community. Together, we can help enhance care and support resources for those facing the disease. Light refreshments will be served.

    Dementia Conversations
    Get tips for talking about difficult issues, such as when to stop driving or going to the doctor for cognitive testing.

    Dementia and Driving
    This program is ideal for caregivers, family members, and friends of individuals diagnosed with dementia who are concerned about their loved one's driving safety.

    Empowering our Community
    This program will provide an overview of Alzheimer's disease, including risk factors, current treatment options, and the 10 warning signs of Alzheimer's. We will address how to navigate crucial conversations that caregivers often face, such as visiting the doctor, driving cessation, and legal and financial planning.

    Faith-Based Breakfast
    This program will focus on learning and self-care to discuss health for your brain, body, and soul.

    Healthy Living For Your Brain and Body
    At any age, there are lifestyle habits we can adopt to help maintain or even potentially improve our health. These habits may also help to keep our brains healthy as we age and possibly delay the onset cognitive decline.

    This program provides an overview of the Alzheimer's Association programs and services, along with a brief examination of Alzheimer's Disease risk factors and the 10 warning signs.

    Managing Money
    Join us to learn tips for managing someone else's finances, how to prepare for future care costs and the benefits of early planning.

    The Empowered Caregiver Series
    This education series teaches caregivers how to navigate the responsibilities of caring for someone with dementia. Topics include: Building the Foundations of Caregiving, Supporting the Independence, Communicating Effectively, Responding to Dementia-Related Behaviors and Exploring Care and Support Services.
