No one should face Alzheimer's alone. Available in-person or online, our free education and advocacy programs feature information on topics including the signs of Alzheimer’s disease, diagnosis, communication, living with dementia, caregiving techniques, and public policy efforts.

Our caregiver support groups offer comfort, reassurance, practical advice and a community of people who are facing similar challenges. These meetings are for unpaid family members or friends caring for someone living with Alzheimer’s disease, another dementia or a related disorder. People who attend should be comfortable and open to discussing their experience in a group setting.

Memory Makers: Early-Stage Memory Loss Educational Support Group
Hosted by Duke Dementia Family Support Program
The six-week group meets once a week and is offered in Durham in the spring, summer, and fall.

North Carolina Alzheimer's Advocacy Day is designed to connect volunteers from across the state with legislators who can take action on Alzheimer's and dementia policy to improve the lives of North Carolina families. Learn more and register.
During NC Alzheimer's Advocacy Day, you will:
- Learn about the legislative process.
- Raise awareness of the importance of the Alzheimer’s Association's public policy priorities.
- Tell your personal story to key decision-makers & elected officials who can take action on policies for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and their families.
