    November is National Family Caregivers Month. In New York, more than 776,000 caregivers are providing unpaid care for those with Alzheimer's. Join us throughout November as we offer virtual education programs that will help those navigate the responsibilities of caregiving.

    The Empowered Caregiver: Building Foundations of Caregiving
    Explores the role of the caregiver and the changes they may experience, building a support team and managing caregiver stress. The Empowered Caregiver: Supporting Independence
    Focuses on helping the person living with dementia participate in daily activities, providing the right level of support and balancing safety and independence while managing expectations. Caregiving through the Holiday (in partnership with SNAP)
    Caregivers may feel overwhelmed by maintaining traditions while providing care and adhering to safety precautions. Learn tips and ideas for safely enjoying time with family and friends during the holidays. The Empowered Caregiver: Communicating Effectively
    Teaches how dementia affects communication, including tips for communicating well with family, friends and health care professionals. From Mindset to Mindshift: How Caregiving Requires a Change in Your Thinking
    This program shows how mindset adjustments are among the most important ways for you to effect positive change in your caregiving experience. The Empowered Caregiver: Responding to Dementia-Related Behaviors
    Discusses common behavior changes and how they are a form of communication, non-medical approaches to behaviors and recognizing when additional help is needed. The Empowered Caregiver: Exploring Care and Support Services
    Discusses how best to prepare for future care decisions and changes, including respite care, residential care and end-of-life care.

    8th annual Caregiver Appreciation Event 
    We would like to celebrate those who provide care to a family member or friend with dementia. Come join us and take advantage of some of our caregiver stations, including chair massages (sign-up is first come, first served), rejuvenating activities geared to help you relax, one-on-one care counseling sessions, self-care resources, an appreciation gift for each attendee and more!
