    November is National Family Caregivers Month. In New York, more than 776,000 caregivers are providing unpaid care for those with Alzheimer's. Join us throughout November as we offer virtual education programs covering topics related to brain health, Alzheimer's and other dementia, and caregiving.

    Explores the role of the caregiver and the changes they may experience, building a support team and managing caregiver stress. The Empowered Caregiver: Supporting Independence
    Focuses on helping the person living with dementia participate in daily activities, providing the right level of support and balancing safety and independence while managing expectations. The Empowered Caregiver: Communicating Effectively
    Teaches how dementia affects communication, including tips for communicating well with family, friends and health care professionals. The Empowered Caregiver: Responding to Dementia-Related Behaviors
    Discusses common behavior changes and how they are a form of communication, non-medical approaches to behaviors and recognizing when additional help is needed. The Empowered Caregiver: Exploring Care and Support Services
    Discusses how best to prepare for future care decisions and changes, including respite care, residential care and end-of-life care.
