Monica Moreno is senior director of Dementia Care Navigation at the Alzheimer's Association, where she leads the development and implementation of the organization's dementia care navigation strategy. Her work focuses on expanding access to dementia care navigation, building workforce capacity to meet growing demand, establishing best practices and driving innovation that shapes the future of dementia care navigation nationwide.  

With more than three decades of experience serving individuals living with dementia and their caregivers, Moreno has extensive expertise in designing and implementing programs that help individuals and families navigate the challenges of dementia while strengthening partnerships across the health and care ecosystem.

Moreno has played a leadership role in advancing the dementia care navigation field, including leading the development of the Alzheimer's Association Dementia Care Navigation Training and Certification Program, which strengthens and standardizes the knowledge and competencies across the workforce. Her work also focuses on supporting dementia care navigation programs and professionals in delivering high-quality, person-centered services that improve outcomes for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers.

Moreno is co-author of a chapter in "Evidenced-Based Protocols for Managing Wandering Behavior," which was named Book of the Year by the American Journal of Nursing. She earned a bachelor's degree in social work from Loyola University Chicago.
