Barbara Pryor is the chief administrative officer at the Alzheimer’s Association, overseeing the functional areas of our administrative functions: Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal, Internal Audit, Real Estate and Facilities Operations. She brings more than 20 years of experience in human resources, technology and executive leadership, including recruiting/talent management, operations, technology leadership, organizational change, increasing efficiencies and developing diverse teams.
Prior to joining the Association, she served as vice president, human resources at Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. She previously led Cook County Health and Hospitals System’s (CCHHS) Human Resources department as the chief human resources officer. Under her leadership, CCHHS re-engineered various business processes and implemented system automation to increase productivity and overall service levels.
Pryor also served as the CIO for Chicago Housing Authority and as a director of Human Resources, Information Systems for the Cook County Government Offices of the President. She has also served as an associate partner/client solutions executive, Global Technology Services for IBM Corporation, where she was nominated as a “Technology All Star'' for the 2007 National Women of Color Technology Awards & Recognition Conference. She has also held various consulting roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and Deloitte & Touche LLP. She is a former board member for the Wings Domestic Violence Service Organization and for the University of Illinois’ College Business Alumni Association Board.
She earned her bachelor’s of science degree in marketing from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, has completed coursework for an master's of business administration in finance and management information systems (MIS) from Loyola University of Chicago and has attended the Harvard Kennedy School of Business Executive Education program.
