The Global Alzheimer’s Association Interactive Network (GAAIN) is a gateway to providing access to a vast collection of Alzheimer’s disease research data, sophisticated analytics tools and computational resources. GAAIN promotes big data sharing among a federated, global network of data partners who are studying Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

The mission of GAAIN is to advance a global cooperation of sharing, investigation and discovery. As the sponsor of GAAIN, the Alzheimer’s Association changes the way researchers work together to answer questions related to the causes, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative diseases.

GAAIN objectives

GAAIN addresses the need to coordinate and leverage existing resources to advance research into the root causes of the disease, improve diagnostics and discover novel therapeutics, and find better ways to deliver care.

GAAIN:

  • Builds a global network of Alzheimer’s disease study centers that share data.
  • Develops infrastructure to facilitate access to Alzheimer’s disease research data
  • Accelerates Alzheimer’s disease research by providing resources that enable investigators to perform comparative data analysis and cohort discovery
