If you have unwanted or broken gold jewelry, or sterling silver bowls, trays or flatware you don’t use, consider donating these items to the Alzheimer’s Association. Your tax-deductible donation helps contribute to our mission to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.

How to donate

  • Complete the donation form provided by Jewelry for Good.
  • Use the prepaid FedEx label and securely send your donation.
  • Receive a donation receipt for your generous gift.

What types of gold and silver items can be donated?

We accept gold jewelry — 10K, 14K, 18K, 22K and 24K — such as broken necklaces, brooches and rings. We also accept sterling silver bowls, cups, flatware, trays and coffee/tea services, but they must be sterling silver. These items are usually marked with the word “sterling” or “.925.”

Are costume jewelry or plated items acceptable?

No, it has to be real gold, platinum or sterling silver. We can’t accept gold-plated or silver-plated items.

Is gold jewelry with stones acceptable?

Yes, but our processor cannot value the donation of stones; they only process precious metals. The stones will be removed by the refiner and disposed of separately. If you believe the stones are valuable, you may wish to have them removed before you donate.
