A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a flexible charitable giving vehicle that is administered by a third party such as a community foundation or financial services company. Donors participate by transferring cash or other assets to their DAFs and by recommending how that money is granted to qualified charitable organizations such as the Alzheimer’s Association.

Benefits of donations through DAFs include

  • An immediate tax deduction upon contributing to your DAF.
  • The option to grant specified donation amounts to the charities of your choice at a later time than contributing to your DAF.
  • A centralized record-keeping system.
Generous people like you fuel the work of the Alzheimer's Association to advance care, support and research. If you’ve created a DAF, consider making a grant recommendation to the institution that administers your fund to help support our mission.
