As an Alzheimer’s Association volunteer, you can make a meaningful impact for people and families impacted by Alzheimer’s and dementia in your community. With support groups, education programs, awareness opportunities, advocacy initiatives, fundraising events and more, we have volunteer options for you at the Northeastern New York Chapter. As a program volunteer, you can:
- Increase awareness of Alzheimer’s Association programs and services at local events
- Deliver education presentations using prepared training materials on topics related to Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia
- Build partnerships with community and faith organizations
- Facilitate support groups for dementia caregivers
- Assist with data entry/front desk activities
- And more!
Development and Fundraising Volunteer
As a fundraising volunteer, you can:- Help plan, execute and assist at events such as
- Walks to End Alzheimer’s - five local Walks held each Fall throughout our territory - Albany, Queensbury, Schenectady, Troy/Columbia/Greene, and Cooperstown
- The Longest Day - our "choose your own" fundraising campaign
- Serve on our event planning committees or event leadership teams
