Derya Durusu Emek Savas, PhD
Global Brain Health Institute and Dokuz Eylul Universitesi
Izmir, Turkey

By 2050, Turkey is anticipated to be the country with the fourth-highest dementia rates relative to its population. Dr. Emek Savas plans to identify strategies in Turkey that may improve cognition in individuals with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), an initial stage of early memory loss that a person may experience. Dr. Emek Savas’ project will explore the role of cognitive training in potentially delaying the progression from MCI to Alzheimer’s.
